Case Study
Evine:
Redesigning the home shopping app
Evine (now ShopHQ), is an iconic home shopping network embarked on an initiative to expand its online platform by creating an app that was an on air shopping companion.
For Evine I created a connected experience that allowed users to simultaneously engage between device and live TV. We overhauled the consumer experience to reflect how customers shopped from Evine from serving dynamic offers, introducing easier ways to browse the latest products, keeping customers excited about events and simplifying the transaction flow.
By simplifying the multi-channel, multi-screen experience, we not only enabled users to shop how they wanted to, but opened up new revenue drivers by way of a best-in-class app offerings.

Framing the challenge
A Foundational Focus
A progression of customer interviews, behavior analysis, surveys and user testing provided a clear path forward for all teams to compliment the home shopping experience.
➤ Entertainment
The number one thing that customers valued about the video programming with online shopping was the way that it supported their ability to truly get a sense of the product.
➤ Trust
For customers, hosts were a major part of what they valued in Evine. For these customers, the hosts increased their enjoyment of shopping, as well as their sense of trust and loyalty.
➤ Education
Customers valued the information that Evine’s digital offerings provide about products that the video programming does not, especially when it came to reviews. The product descriptions reinforce and, in some cases, expand the information provided through video programming.
